Hope Shapiro Mackey

Hope is a Philly born, New York City girl, currently living in Los Angeles with her husband and two children. 

 

She cultivated a love of performing from a young age and subsequently got a bachelor of arts in theater from Temple University. She has had a varied career in theater, TV, and film, doing both comedy and drama, and has had much success working on kids shows. She performed for many years in improv and sketch companies and dabbled in stand up comedy. 

 

Hope is also a successful private catering chef and an event planning manager. Her career has spanned decades, with clients too numerous to mention. She is on staff for the Governor’s Balls at the Oscars and Emmys every year. 

 

Hope and her husband, Jesse, are foster/adopt advocates and built their family by navigating this system. They created an award winning documentary, Family: A Love Story, with artist Sarah Prikryl to shed more light on the process and attract more resource parents into fostering. They currently mentor families on the path and host an informal group of fellow resource families in their home every few months.
